I’m not sure about you, but I’m the type of person who’s constantly coming up with new ideas and having big a-has—both in my personal and professional life.
I have multiple note-taking apps on my phone, and I have more notebooks and journals kicking around my room than I know what to do with.
Interestingly enough, despite all the notes I take to make sure I remember my important moments, I usually end up forgetting my “big a-has” because I’ve already moved on to the next one.
“There is no need to reach high for the stars. They are already within you. Just reach deep into yourself!” ~Unknown
One of the positive things about being a note-writing, a-ha-generating machine is that I have the pleasure of stumbling upon my past thoughts when I’m in one of my apps or notebooks.
The other day I had the sheer pleasure of stumbling upon this beauty of a note,or rather a message to myself that I’m going to share with you today.
It was early June and an old friend had contacted me to see if I could help her with a Chakra Healing event she was organizing. Without hesitation, I agreed to hop onboard for the week of the event. (Who doesn’t love an impromptu trip to LA to reconnect with the girls?!)
One of the perks to working at an event like this is that there are usually opportunities for the crew members to participate in the exercises.
I forget the exact details of the exercise I participated in, but it went something like this: We were guided to first mediate and sit in silence for a few moments and then we were asked to connect to our higher self and listen to the message we received.
Now for those of you who are new to the meditation wagon and “connecting” with something greater than your 3D self, this exercise might sound like a bunch of pointless hubbub.
But I’d like to invite you to consider that there might be a higher self, or simply another part of you that exists in your subconscious mind that knows the way. A part of you that believes in you, fully accepts you, and is your greatest fan.
This is the part of myself I connected with, and the results of this exercise (aka the inspiring, juicy message to myself!) continue to amaze me to this day.
I now know, with 110% certainty that I was meant to be at this event and in the room for this particular exercise for a couple of reasons. The first reason being for my personal well-being.
The message I’m about to share with you touched me deeply, and speaks to me in many ways. It continues to inspire me, and it’s something I read when the days get challenging.
I also believe this message is applicable to everyone, and this brings me to the second reason I know I was in the room for this particular exercise: I believe this message is meant to be shared.
I hope it touches that special place deep inside of you—that place where, if you’re anything like me, you keep that little voice, along with that slight feeling of knowingness locked away.
So here it is, the message from my higher self to myself and the message that I know is true for a part of you too:
My soul wants me to know that I’m a powerful woman. I am stronger than I know. But I am strong in a gentle way.
Ebbing and flowing, yet expanding and evolving.
Changing, but not changing me. Becoming more and more me. Getting to know myself in a new way. Discovering parts of me that I never knew existed.
Realizing that what I admire about other people is already in me, I just need to access it.
Realizing that what I don’t care for in other people is already in me, I just need to recognize this to lay it to peace.
Realizing that I can do whatever I want to do—that when I’m authentic and true to myself, everything will unfold naturally as it’s meant to be.
That fear is a sign that I’m on the right path. That rather than feeding the fear or focusing on it too much, I need to recognize it, understand what it means to me, and then move forward.
Not to apologize for who I was, who I am, or who I am going to be.
She’s smart, right?
How does this message ring true for you? I’d love to hear your comments below.
And if you’re interested in trying this exercise yourself, it’s easy-peasy!
Simply set aside five minutes and find a peaceful place to relax. Take a few deep breaths, then close your eyes for a few moments and simply allow yourself to be present. Then ask yourself what your higher self wants you to know, and without hesitation, start writing.
I’m guessing you’ll be amazed at what you read, and that the message you receive is exactly what you need to hear.
